Faith. Sacred Symbols in Hiding

SPIRITUAL REVIVAL IN THE SOVIET UNION AFTER WORLD WAR II

In these paintings, I am less interested in reflecting formal beauty and more in expressing my feeling and admiration; I attempt to uncover hidden spirituality in nature, to express objects as a metaphor.

I constantly search for expressiveness through color and composition. I find help in the great tradition of old Russian Icon painting and the achievements of the first years of Soviet art [Soviet Avant-Garde].
